Verizon Innovative Learning Summer Entrepreneurship Experience

Summer High School STEM Program

Verizon Innovative Learning Summer Entrepreneurship Experience is an opportunity for students to acquire business and communications skills in a technology-focused environment. No prior tech or business knowledge is required to apply.

The program serves current 9th and 10th (rising 10th and 11th) grade high school students. This program is by invitation only.

Twenty-five students are accepted to participate into the Verizon Innovative Learning Summer Entrepreneurship Experience and housed in a UT Austin campus dorm.

VERIZON SEE PARTICIPANTS WILL:

  • Use technology and entrepreneurship skills to work towards U. N. Millennium Development Goals
  • Experience a project-based environment that fosters creativity and problem solving skills
  • Participate in team-building exercises that will prepare students for the workplace of the future
  • Participate in a field trip to a local tech company
  • Receive a private tour and work at the TACC Visualization Laboratory (Vislab) and data center
  • Collaborate with peers, college students, entrepreneurs, researchers and engineers

COST
Free of cost for selected participants. All program expenses (housing, meals, extracurricular activities, and materials) are paid for by the program. This includes travel to and from UT for those outside of the state of Texas.
