Giving to TACC

Your contributions strengthen TACC for the future. Our campaign embodies a number of objectives. TACC has already had a significant impact, on the Forty Acres and beyond. Your contributions strengthen TACC for the future. Our campaign embodies a number of objectives. These far-reaching goals require significant resources and the engagement of all of our friends. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of alumni, friends, and partners we will reach them together.

Annual Giving: Seeding Success

When you join Friends of TACC and make an annual gift, you allow TACC to respond more rapidly to new ideas, which power discoveries that change the world. These unrestricted gifts allow TACC the flexibility to undertake critical new initiatives and provide opportunities for learning and discovery.

Corporate and Foundation Relations: High-Performance Partners

Our corporate and foundation partnerships have yielded tremendous results. We engage our partners and strive to deepen and expand our relationships in meaningful ways. We believe that the power of collaboration enables us to help solve some of the world's grand challenge problems.

The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) and the Office of Corporate Relations work together to engage corporations in the research, education, and public outreach mission of both TACC and The University of Texas at Austin. TACC seeks to enhance corporate relationships through strategic involvement opportunities such as student recruitment, research, industry alliance programs, events, conferences, corporate philanthropy, and service on committees.

In the same fashion, TACC works along with Foundation Relations, in the Office of the Vice President for Development, to expand and deepen the relationships with philanthropic foundations for the benefit TACC, the university, and the larger society.

Collaborations with TACC offer benefits for both parties. Our partnerships have produced great results, including significant impact on society.

Endowments: Sustaining Leadership

Your endowment gifts create financial stability, allowing us to be less dependent on unpredictable sources of revenue while creating a legacy for generations to come.

Endowments at The University of Texas at Austin are a sound investment in a better future. With an endowed gift, you provide permanent support for the university. Your gift is invested — never spent — and each year a distribution, like dividends on a mutual fund account, is made to your chosen program or area. Investment earnings above the dividend rate help the endowment value grow over time, to keep pace with inflation and maintain your endowment's spending power.

You may take up to five years to fund an endowment, and once it is officially established, you or anyone else may continue to add to its principal at any time. Moreover, by selecting the title of your endowment, you can forever link your name, or that of a family member, friend, or organization, to scholarly excellence at the university.

The campaign for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) is part of the university-wide campaign to increase resources across the campus and to create the "disciplined culture of excellence" called for by The Commission of 125, which established goals for the university for the coming 25 years. Gifts to TACC will support the following areas:

  • Endowment for Leadership in Advanced Computing

Facilities and infrastructure

  • Next generation data center
  • TACC Visualization Laboratory

Investing in People

  • Fellowships in computational science
  • Visiting speakers fund
