Mike joined TACC in March, 2012 as a Senior Systems Administrator. He currently maintains the OpenStack systems Jetstream and Rodeo using automation tools like Puppet, Salt, and Ansible, as well as providing user support for several DevOps-related activities.

Mike has been doing Linux sysadmin work since 1998, starting at the Illinois State Museum. He worked at NCSA, managed the first Teragrid/XSEDE clusters at SDSC, and ran several compute clusters for the Organic Chemistry Institute at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. His experience includes managing HPC Linux clusters, grids, legacy IT systems, networks, and other aspects of cyberinfrastructure deployment.
