Story Highlights

The HPCwire 2021 Readers' Choice and Editors' Choice awards were announced at SC21 held in a virtual format for the second time this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

TACC won a Readers' Choice award for Best HPC Collaboration in Academia/Government/Industry. The center helped enable the transfer and preservation of petabytes of irreplaceable observation data from the Arecibo radio telescope. The data was transferred to the XSEDE-allocated Ranch system of TACC.

TACC won an Editors' Choice for Best Use of HPC in Physical Sciences. The center helped enable dynamic models of earthquake processes with scientists from the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) who used the Frontera supercomputer.
