Story Highlights

58 science investigations received supercomputing time on Frontera and its subsystems for 2022-2023.

Frontera is currently the most powerful academic supercomputer in the world and 13th fastest anywhere.

LRAC projects range from high-resolution geospatial mapping to studies of plasma turbulence to the design of new superconductors.

In addition to the 38.7 petaFLOPS main system, LRAC awardees can request resources from a handful of subsystems that are part of the Frontera project, including GPU-based and long-term storage systems.
