Story Highlights

UTEP researchers Lela Vukovic and her team used TACC supercomputers to explore the dynamics of broad spectrum anti-viral nanomedicines and DNA-wrapped carbon nanotube sensors for detecting neurotransmitters.

Originally using molecular dynamics to explore atomic interactions, Vukovic recently pivoted to machine learning to allow her to investigate a larger number of potential candidate sensors.

Her work is enabled in part by the University of Texas Research Cyberinfrastructure (UTRC) initiative, which allows scholars from the state of Texas to compute on TACC resources.
