Presentation proposals for the WeTeach_CS Summit to be held June 30 - July 2, 2021, in Georgetown, TX, are now being accepted. Our current plan is to host this event in-person and are closely monitoring guidance regarding COVID-19. If we are unable to host a face-to-face Summit safely, we will transition to an online format. A final decision will be made no later than February 1, 2021. Submit your proposal today.
INSPIRE YOUR STUDENTS AND THE COMMUNITY DURING COMPUTER SCIENCE EDUCATION WEEK
Computer Science Education Week (#CSEdWeek) is an annual call to action to inspire K–12 students to learn computer science, advocate for equity in computer science education, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field. It will be held from December 7th through December 13th. As part of the #CSforGood movement, this year CSTA is proud to elevate #CSforSocialJustice. Resources and a calendar of events are here.
AP CSA CURRICULUM: VIDEO DEMONSTRATION
WeTeach_CS has been hard at work bringing our curriculum options to the next level! Watch as we demonstrate the new Codio online programming platform, which already contains all of our AP CSA labs, and soon will contain all the WeTeach_CS for HS labs, including Scratch, Jeroo, and Java! It is a great deal, the price is right, and we think you will love the cool features for both students and teachers (especially the ease of grading labs!). Watch our demonstration video here.
Additionally, find more information about the WeTeach_CS curriculum options on our our Curricula Overview page.
WETEACH_JAVA
Register today to join us for WeTeach_Java, a special online course being held Thursday evenings from January 14 through February 18, 2021. Prior programming experience is required for this course. This introductory programming class combines live sessions with asynchronous work to provide teachers with foundational knowledge in Java programming. Concepts begin with simple output techniques to data types, operators, conditionals and loops, then move into complex data structures such as arrays and ArrayLists.
