HAPPY NEW YEAR

A new year is upon us, and we are thrilled to announce registration for the 2020 WeTeach_CS Summit is now open! This newsletter is dedicated to all things Summit - so make sure to save it somewhere special. Summit Registration

SUMMIT REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

The 2020 WeTeach_CS Summit is a 3-day event which educates, empowers, and inspires K-12 CS teachers, advocates, administrators, professional development providers, university instructors, and policy-makers to advance the goal of ‘CS for All' in Texas and beyond. This year's Summit will take place on the shores of the San Gabriel River at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center, just outside of Austin on June 22-24.

A limited room block at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center is available for $101.00 per night.

Scholarships

SUMMIT SCHOLARSHIPS

The 2020 WeTeach_CS Summit is awarding a limited number of scholarships to cover the registration fee OR a stipend for transportation and lodging ($400 payable after the event) for Texas educators to attend the Summit. A link to the application with more information can be found here.

CHANGE MAKER AWARDS AND MINI-GRANTS

Do you know a teacher, counselor, or administrator making an impact in CS in their community? Nominate them for a WeTeach_CS Change Maker award to acknowledge their work.

Do you have a fantastic idea to improve teaching and learning in your classroom? Apply for a WeTeach_CS Mini-Grant to support instructional resources and materials for K-12 Computer Science.

The WeTeach_CS Change Maker Awards and WeTeach_CS Mini-Grants are sponsored by Texas Instruments.


Deep Dives

SUMMIT DEEP DIVES

Interested in a more in-depth look at Cybersecurity, Computer Science 1, Physical Computing, and Integrating Computational Thinking and CS into core curricula? The WeTeach_CS Summit 2020 Deep Dives are 2-day intensive trainings occurring right after the Summit, taught by vetted content experts. Earn 12 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE credits) for participating. More information on each Deep Dive can be found on their respective registration pages, linked below. Summit attendance is not necessary to attend a Deep Dive.
