Samuel (Sam) joined TACC as the Education, Outreach, and Training Coordinator in the External Relations Group in July 2011. Samuel helps manage TACC's education, outreach and training programs, creates new initiatives, and develops partnerships with other departments and research centers at The University of Texas and in the Austin and Texas community.

Previously he worked as a lecturer and outreach professor in the communications studies department at the University of Minnesota, where he also served as a STEM Senior Fellow in the Institute for Diversity, Equity, and Advocacy. From 2007-2011, Samuel acted as the Co-author and original Co-PI and Project Direcon of an NSF Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation grant that supported a coalition of 18 partners (including public and private colleges and universities, community colleges, the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Minnesota High Tech Association) working to increase the level of interest and participation in STEM education and careers by secondary and post-secondary students.
