The TACC mass storage server provides both short term and long term high performance storage (HPS). A Sun Microsystems® StorageTek ranch (ranch.tacc.utexas.edu) utilizes Sun's Storage Archive Manager Filesystem (SAM-FS) for migrating files to/from a tape archival system with a current storage capacity of 1 Petabyte(PB).
