More information about the institute
The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin will host a five-day TACC Summer Supercomputing Institute from Monday, July 28, to Friday, August 1.
The Institute will provide researchers with an intensive introduction to using TACC’s computing resources. Senior TACC staff will deliver presentations and lead interactive lab sessions focused on using TACC’s advanced computing resources and technologies:
- High performance computing systems
- Visualization systems and advanced display environments
- Massive storage systems
- Grid computing technologies
Lectures and Hands-On Labs:
- Obtaining access to TACC resources and services
- Reviewing the hardware and software of all TACC resources
- Developing parallel programs with OpenMP and MPI
- Using visualization and data analysis software and systems
- Developing distributed computing applications
- Analyzing and optimizing application performance
- Using distributed resources with grid computing technologies
Applications Seminars: Leading computational researchers will discuss their work, including examples of how they are applying TACC’s resources. They will also share effective methods for consulting with TACC’s user support group.
Consulting: On the final day of the Institute, TACC staff will assist participants in applying the techniques and technologies covered in the Institute to their own applications.
