This dataset was created to help model the velocities of blood flow in the patient-specific thoracic aorta to see if high velocity stresses on the artery were occurring. The image shows the artery with high velocity blood (red) flowing into it from the assistive device and spreading outwards. Note that there is high velocity along the sides of the artery walls. This was hypothesized to contribute to weakening of the artery. |
