Accessing the Calendar
Accessing the TACC Public Calendar The Texas Advanced Computing Center publishes a public, centerwide calendar to allow users and staff keep up to date with deadlines, deliverables, and center-related events. The calendar is available in multiple formats. To view to a particular calendar, click on the link representing the desired calendar format. There are currently three formats available:
- XML or iCalendar - Use these formats to view a read-only version of a calendar from other applications. For instance, you can use these addresses to access a calendar from feed readers that support the iCalendar format (like Apple's iCal or Mozilla's Thunderbird).
- HTML - To view a read-only version of a calendar as a webpage.
Centerwide Calendar
Displays public events including The Austin Forum on Science, Technology & Society; seminars given at, or sponsored by, TACC; workshops, tutorials, and training classes given at, or sponsored by, TACC; and major conferences where TACC is represented. The Calendar is available in three different formats. If you need instructions on how to get started, please read "Subscribe to the Calendar" below.
Subscribe to the Calendar
To Subscribe to the calendar on your iPhone: Open http://www.tacc.utexas.edu/calendar/ in Safari on your iPhone. Select .ical.
To subscribe to the calendar in Outlook, please do the following:
Subscribing via Outlook Account Manager: Go Account Manager in Outlook (Tools->Account Settings) and switching to Internet Calendars tab as shown in the picture below. Here you can both change the settings on existing subscriptions, and add new subscriptions by clicking "New". Once you enter the calendar address (http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/taccster%40gmail.com/private-9fae0ab22ab4e0f06e6f31cb4c734823/basic.ics) in the dialog box, Outlook will create the subscription binding.
If you use your Google Calendar as your primary calendar, do the following to add the TACC Centerwide Calendar: Add -> Add a friend's calendar and choose taccster@gmail.com for the email address (courtesy John Peterson).
